Frequently Asked Questions

You might wonder why a Matchmaker. Here are some commonly asked questions and their answers.

Modern Ceiling Light

Q: Why choose a matchmaker?

A: In many cultures, matchmakers play a vital role in helping individuals find partners, as they often bring a wealth of experience and understanding of social dynamics. They can help bridge cultural and familial expectations ensuring that potential couples align with their spiritual values. Additionally, matchmakers often have access to a wider pool of compatible partners. Ultimately, their guidance can ease the matchmaking process.

Q:What are areas of my life do you need to know about?

A: Ideally, all areas of your life. Matchmaking gets better the more that the matchmaker knows. If there is something important to you, please share it. Be honest because it helps the match get better. The goal is not just to get two people married, but to have them be happy in their relationship. This is accomplished with honesty.

Q:Why is there such a long intake?

A:There are a lot of areas of your life that the matchmaker is trying to match. Spiritual, emotional, family, lifestyle, & health are just a few of the areas that the matchmaker is trying to match. The more the matchmaker knows, the better the match you will receive.

Q:I've already contacted the matchmaker but I haven't gotten a match yet. What is going on?

A:Time is needed to get you the right match. On a dating app, there are thousands of wrong people that you get matched with, and you have to weed them out. Sometimes you might overlook someone who could be a great match. That's what the matchmaker is doing. It takes time to correctly get a match.

Q:I received an alert that I've got a match. But there isn't a picture. Did my file not load?

A:The matchmaker is not selecting people based off a picture, they are selecting a match for you off compatibility. Read the bio of your match and see if you like the bio. We want to keep physical attraction out of the initial part of the selection.

Q:What should I expect?

A:Most matches are going to take time to make. Waiting is going to be key, along with prayer and faith in Jehovah.

When the matchmaker has determined that someone will fit your compatibility, they will send over a bio, without a picture. You will read the bio of your match and determine if you would like to move foward. If you reject the match, your matchmaker will start over with rematching you.

If you accept the match, the matchmaker will be in contact to arrange the first conversation.

Q:I'm not getting a match. What can I do to move that process along?

A: While it takes time to get a successful match, sometimes getting some mentoring help can speed things along. The mentor will focus on things that can be improved, with giving you scriptural counsel to mediate on, and encouragement to help you wait on Jehovah.

Q:Why does it cost money for the in depth interview? Shouldn't this be free?

A:If you want to be added to the data base, it's free as long as the requirements are completed: Both the completed 15 minute intro phone call and the form needs to be filled out and returned. However, if you want the best match, with the fastest turn around time, the matchmaker does charge. This helps pay fees that are associated with having this service, as well as paying the matchmaker for their time. The same goes for the mentoring. While in an ideal world, all things would be free, website hosting, and other expenses aren't free. This is a way to recoup some of those costs, while still remaining affordable.

Q:What countries do you match?

A: Right now we are matching the USA and Mexico.

Q:I'm not a Witness but I would still like to match. What can I do?

A:Unfortunately, this is a website only for Jehovah's Witnesses. If you aren't a Witness, you can become a Jehovah's Witness. We would love for you to join us. However, we are unable to fill requests for non-witnesses.

Q:I'm a disfellowshipped member, I'm not baptized, or I'm currently married. Can you help me?

A:This website is for single baptized Witnesses who are in good standing in their congregation. If you are divorced, there is a possibility that the matchmaker can help, however, there is no guarantee. Jehovah wants us to make marriage work and if you have already chosen a marriage mate, please reach out to your congregation elders for assistance. A new marriage isn't going to fix old problems.

Q:What qualifications do your matchmakers have?

A:We have two matchmakers at the moment. Both matchmakers are baptized, married sisters who take an interest in helping single brothers and sisters reach their goals of finding love. The matchmakers understand what it takes to have successful marriages, from personal experience.

Q:I have a question that isn't answered.

A:Please email and someone will get back with you.
